What a beautiful time it is here on the Bergen County, NJ real estate market! The leaves are finally starting to turn and the air is crisp!

I love this time of year, especially considering all of the fun fall activities going on that are enjoyable for the entire family!

Today, I’m going to tell you about some of these community events that are going on during the month of October in Bergen County, NJ.

Celebrate Time with the Family During These Community Events

Chess Tournament: Bring your family to the Oct. 10 chess tournament to teach your children about this fun and strategy-oriented game that dates back to the 6th century!

  • When: Noon and 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 10
  • Where: FDU Giovatto Library, 1000 River Road in Teaneck, NJ

Clinton Point Guided Hike: Check out the fall foliage during this guided hike with John Funke. This hike will take you on an 8 mile tour of the area and will last about 4 hours. It will follow moderate trails with steep slopes and some rocky sections.

  • Where: Englewood Boat Basin, PIP Exit 1 in Englewood Cliffs
  • Admission: FREE

ZooBoo at the Bergen County Zoo: During this annual celebration, patrons can go trick-or-treating at the zoo, enjoy ghost stories, watch magic shows and even take an eerie express train ride!

  • When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then again from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 27
  • Where: Bergen County Zoological Park on Forest Avenue in Paramus
  • Admission: $5 each for ages 2 and up

Halloween Craft Fun: Spend some time with your children making Halloween crafts at this free event at the Ridgefield Library. Patrons are encouraged to wear costumes. A perfect way to celebrate this spooky holiday!

  • When: 3 p.m. on Oct. 31
  • Where: Ridgefield Library, 527 Morse Avenue in Ridgefield
  • Admission: FREE
